Vintage wooden Kokeshi doll

A charming vintage wooden Kokeshi doll. Estimated to be mid-late 20th century.

This item is as found and has some signs of wear consistent with age (please see photographs for details).

Kokeshi dolls originate from the Tōhoku region of north-eastern Japan and are are estimated to date back to the 1800s. They were traditionally given as gifts on the birth of a child and are also thought to bring good luck.
